Eye Care Organisations Accreditation Programme
This programme is designed for standalone eye hospitals and multispecialty facilities with dedicated ophthalmology departments. It focuses on standardising clinical and surgical practices, ensuring infection control, patient safety, and ethical service delivery. Accreditation helps build credibility, assures patients of safe and reliable care, and supports eligibility for empanelment and medical tourism. It also encourages a culture of continuous improvement, outcome tracking, and benchmarking in the rapidly growing eye care sector.
-
Safe and Reliable Eye Care:
The programme ensures that eye care services—ranging from diagnostics to surgery—are delivered under strict safety protocols and clinical excellence frameworks. -
Patient-Centred Approach:
Accreditation fosters structured communication, informed consent, and compassionate handling of vision-impaired patients, leading to better satisfaction and outcomes. -
Clinical and Operational Standardisation:
Institutions benefit from uniform protocols for surgical checklists, sterilisation, patient records, and follow-ups—reducing variability and risk. -
Enhanced Community Confidence:
Certification by NABH builds public trust in the eye care provider, assuring patients of ethical, transparent, and quality-assured treatment. -
Pathway to Empanelment and Recognition:
Accredited eye hospitals are more likely to be empanelled by insurance providers and government schemes, expanding access and visibility.
All standalone Eye Care Hospitals across the country, regardless of size.
Hospitals with any other clinical speciality or misleading names are not eligible to apply under the Eye Care Organisations Accreditation Programme.
All aspiring Eye Care Organisations seeking accreditation can apply online by registering on the NABH website. Please refer to the General Information Brochure available on the programme page for complete guidance.
